IMPORTANT NOTICE

IMPORTANT NOTICE

RE

THE HONORARY REGISTRAR

Many of you will be aware that at the AGM held on Sunday 22nd January 2012 Mrs Patricia Harrison was appointed as the new Honorary Registrar replacing former Registrar Sue Seel.

You will appreciate that there will naturally be a change over period and ask you to be patient with us during this time.     This has been impeded somewhat by previously arranged commitments on the part of the former Registrar and also adverse weather conditions.    There is also the travelling element between Essex and Manchester with all the equipment and storage that the post encompasses, and there will inevitably be a setting up period.    We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this change over may cause but be assured that we hope to achieve this as quickly and accurately as possible with minimum disruption to all concerned.   As soon as the necessary transitions have been implemented and Patricia is in a position to action all requests you will be notified immediately via this website.

We would therefore ask that at this present time if you require a passport to be updated with a change of address, you need to report a deceased horse or you require any registration forms that you contact the former Registrar Sue Seel.    If you have any other type of enquiry, including inspections you should contact the new Registrar Patricia Harrison.

Thank you for your patience.

Transfer of Ownership for Imported Haflingers

If your Haflinger has been imported into Great Britain from Europe, and has a passport albeit in Dutch, Belgian, German  -  don’t panic.      The Society is able to update some of these passports for you but only if they have been issued by the recognised Haflinger registry in each respective European Country.

FRAUDULENT BELGIAN PASSPORTS

Published on November 30, 2011 by in Latest News

FRAUDULENT BELGIAN PASSPORTS

It has recently come to the Society’s attention that passports being produced by the Belgisch Europees Stamboek are being produced illegally and are therefore invalid.     The BES is not a recognised passport issuing organisation.  These passports have a laminated cover that is white in colour.  It has the blue European flag at the top and within this flag is a small Belgian flag with the words Belgisch Europees Stamboek.    A sample of the front cover is included with this notice.   It is very unfortunate that the Society is already aware of several of these passports that have been issued to Haflingers imported into Great Britain.   The advice from DEFRA, should you be in possession of this type of passport, is to contact your trading standards office immediately.   Give them as much information and history as you possibly can and tell them to contact DEFRA directly with your complaint.  DEFRA are aware of this type of passport as they are not only being issued to Haflingers but other breeds too.  They are currently working with the Belgian government to try and solve this problem.  Please make all your horse owning friends aware of this situation.
