Stanz’s story

I bought Stanz when he was three.  He has been fantastic at everything ;  hunter trials, showjumping, hunting, showing, polo cross, driving, team chasing, swimming in the sea!  I could go on forever. Most of all he has made me laugh.  Now he is twenty three and he has been the best friend I could have ever asked for.  We all love our haffies for their cheeky characteristics, but let me share this little story about him. The lady who owned the livery yard where I used to keep him didn’t think he was funny at all.  She had been mending a fence in his paddock, and earlier in the day someone had been to collect her muck heap.  The first time she had ever been paid money for muck.  She slipped the tenner into her packet of cigarettes and put it in a black bucket (fool) with the other tools she needed for the job.  Despite efforts to shoo him away, he kept circling, convinced there was something interesting in the bucket. One final brave lunge and he had  swallowed 15 Marlborough and a tenner. She made me keep him in the stable for two days in the hope of finding the serial number!!!!
